My F550 crashes in the snow!
After about 10 flights of experience with the F550, we had some snow here in Netherlands. I decided to go outside, and practice making some nice shots.
Turns out, I have some trouble with the maximum reach of the transmitter / receiver.
The maximum reach turns out to be about 500m. Far less it is supposed to reach, I’m still working on that issue now.
After making some shots, I lost control while the F550 was about 150 – 200m high.
Failsafe kicked in, and brought the hexacopter closer to me, while keeping altitude.
As soon as i got control back, I brought it down, and heard the battery alarm beeping, so decided to land it FPV style. All went well, execpt the fact I did not disarm it correctly and turned my transmitter off. The failsafe kicked in again, taking the F550 to 20 meters with a dead battery. So it came down quicklly, crashing in the soft snow.
No hexacopters where harmed that day!
Below is my first ever video edit. still a lot to learn!
